In 2007 we set in motion an event which has become an annual celebration!

After attending a fashion show sponsored by a nearby Elks Lodge (Boise, Idaho) I was struck with an idea!

Why not involve our local high school fashion design class in an event to showcase their works

and also give other members of the community a chance to show off some of their handiwork.

Thus the idea was born and I ran with it.

Our local Elks Lodge (Mountain Home, Idaho) graciously agreed to host our venture,

providing the lodge facilities to accommodate a lunch and fashion show.

The mission was, and is, the presentation of all crafts related to fiber, to include but not limited to: sewing, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, quilting, scrap booking, spinning, weaving, and any other things that people do with fiber!

The possibilities are endless as fiber is a vast category.

We charge a fee for lunch and also have a silent auction during the event. ALL of the profits from this venture go into a scholarship fund.

At the Celebration we will give out a scholarship (sometimes 2) to a deserving senior student

to help in a small way for them to further their education.

This is our unique way of giving back to the community, especially the young people,

and attempting to keep folks interested in creative processes.

Anyone, from anywhere, is welcome to join us and/or donate to a great cause. It is so very fun and rewarding to see what the students have done and to see how proud of themselves they are. It is an investment in youth and future creativity.
